Acer: Swift 14 AI
Acer is integrating Qualcomm’s processors into its Swift 14 laptops, exemplifying the cutting-edge advancements in laptop technology. The innovative Swift 14 AI, featuring specialized AI-based processing capabilities, is engineered to be among the most energy-efficient Windows 11 notebooks available.
Known also as the SF14-11, the Swift 14 AI boasts a 14.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2,560 by 1,600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Encased in aluminum, the laptop presents a sleek design and has a weight of 3.7 pounds. Buyers will have the choice between the X Elite X1E-78-100 processor, equipped with 12 cores, or the X Plus X1P-64-100 chip, which offers 10 cores.
Additional features of the Swift 14 AI encompass a 180-degree hinge, support for Wi-Fi 7, a 1440p infrared webcam, and a triple microphone array designed to enhance clarity during video calls. While the Swift 14 AI shares a striking resemblance to its Intel-based counterparts, particularly the Swift X 14, it may be available at a lower price point depending on the selected configuration. The device will be available in North America starting at $1,099, with a launch date set for July.
Dell: XPS, Inspiron, and Latitude
Dell is distinguishing itself by integrating X Elite processors into its XPS 13 laptop, which boasts a “zero-lattice keyboard” design with edge-to-edge keys. Additionally, it features a row of LED power buttons situated beneath the screen, echoing the aesthetic of the XPS 13 Plus. However, the X Elite variant is notably more lightweight, tipping the scales at just 2.59 pounds and measuring a slim 0.58 inches in thickness.
Constructed with an aluminum chassis and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3, Dell touts this model as a “strong, lightweight laptop.” The device comes with a 13.4-inch display, offering various screen quality options, including an OLED touchscreen version. Customers have the option to equip the laptop with either the X1 Elite X1E-80-100 processor or the X Plus X1P-64-100 chip. On the flip side, the XPS 13 Elite X commands a higher price, starting at $1,299. Preorders for the XPS 13 will commence on May 20.
For individuals seeking a more budget-friendly PC option, Dell is integrating the X Elite chips into the Inspiron 14 Plus. This model bears a resemblance to its Intel-based counterpart and is priced starting at $1,099. However, the specifications only list the less powerful Snapdragon X1 Plus X1P-64-100 chip.
In addition, Dell is gearing up to release three more X Elite laptop models: the Inspiron 14, Latitude 5455, and Latitude 7455. According to Dell, these models are expected to be available later this year, with pricing details to be disclosed closer to their launch dates.
