On its official service status page, OpenAI has categorized this outage as a major disruption. The company announced that it has pinpointed the underlying bug and is diligently working on a solution. The status tracker indicates that OpenAI began addressing the issue at 12:21 AM PDT on June 4.
In the last 30 days, ChatGPT users have experienced a few partial outages. The most significant of these incidents involved users being unable to retrieve web results due to a Bing API outage last month.
