This cutting-edge feature, Generative Remove, leverages the prowess of AI from Adobe Firefly. Unlike the traditional Content-Aware method, which merely fills in pixels, this AI-driven approach generates the most contextually appropriate replacement for the removed area.
While Adobe has not explicitly detailed the resolution for the AI-generated segments, it is likely to match the 1024px resolution similar to the Generative Fill feature in Photoshop.
You can now download the updated Lightroom app on your mobile devices and iPad. Although it’s not yet available for MacBook, you might qualify for Early Access just as I did.
Our preliminary tests show highly effective results, heralding a new era of simplified workflows for users.
Beyond Generative Remove, Adobe has introduced another AI-supported feature: Lens Blur. Early access has allowed us to test this feature, revealing robust subject recognition and depth mapping capabilities. A detailed review will follow soon.
Additionally, the update brings several other enhancements:
- Tethered shooting support for Sony A7 IV and A7R cameras.
- Improved HDR capabilities.
- Faster access to photo libraries.
- A completely revamped editing interface for mobile users.
Stay tuned for more insights and a comprehensive review of the new features in Lightroom.
