Microsoft is aiming to enhance the functionality of its generative AI suite specifically for corporate and large enterprise teams.
During its annual Build developers conference this morning, Microsoft introduced Team Copilot, an addition to its existing Copilot family of generative AI technologies. Unlike previous iterations of Copilot, which were targeted solutions, Team Copilot is a comprehensive set of features designed to enhance collaboration and streamline project management.
“Team Copilot empowers teams to boost productivity and creativity by automating administrative tasks that are often time-consuming and costly,” wrote Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President of AI at Work at Microsoft, in a blog post shared with TechCrunch.
Team Copilot is integrated with Microsoft Teams, the company’s videoconferencing platform, to assist in managing meeting agendas and enabling collaborative note-taking. Within text chats, Team Copilot consolidates information and responds to queries regarding group discussions, aiming for accuracy in its summaries.
Team Copilot’s functionality extends to Microsoft’s Loop and Planner platforms, enhancing collaboration and task management. It enables the creation and assignment of tasks, deadline tracking, and notifies team members when their input is required. Within Planner, Copilot can decompose large tasks into manageable steps and provide insights into task progress, priorities, and stakeholder workloads.
According to Microsoft, the preview of Team Copilot features will be accessible later this year for customers holding a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license, priced at $30 per user per month.
